Those Who Wait at the Bridge . . .

“The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth will ever be.”  -Konrad Lorenz
Brady
October 28, 2010
This tale is dedicated to the sweetest little angel that has ever graced this
world. Brady joined the Freeman family on September 12, 2010. We wanted to
give Brady the same opportunity of being in a loving and happy home that we
provided for our other adopted Shih Tzu, Odie, and we thought it would be nice
for him to have a friend to play with during the week while we were at work.
We knew of Buster's Angels Rescue because my (Jill’s) parents had adopted a
shy little Shih Tzu from there in April 2009. Something about Brady stood out
to us when viewing the pictures and reading the stories of the innocent dogs
that needed a good home. We instantly felt a connection to this little angel
that had been dealt a difficult hand in life. Due to abuse and neglect, he only
had three teeth remaining. This limited him to only being able to eat soft food
and he was unable to experience the joy and excitement of squeaking a toy or
chewing a bone. He also was hard of hearing, had a skin disease, could only see
well out of one eye, and had developed a heart murmur. Life was not fair to
this little guy. The wonderful vets at Stafford Oaks Veterinary Hospital
provided us with the necessary items that would allow him to lead a happy life,
in his new loving and caring home. Tragedy struck our family on the night of
October 28, 2010. We came home that night to discover that he had passed
away in his sleep. Words cannot explain how heartbroken we felt and still feel
to this day. The vet believes that his little heart had a valve rupture and it
could not have be detected or corrected. The helplessness that we felt only
added to our sadness.

Brady will always be remembered in our hearts as the sweetest little thing
that always wanted to be right by our side. His adorable face with that tongue
hanging out at all times. He would let you know when he wanted on the couch or
to get into bed. When he was done eating his face would be covered in sweet
potato soufflé and he'd try and sneak off to the good rug in the kitchen to
wipe it off.  He and Odie became friends even sharing a dog bed on occasions.
He learned that belly rubs were wonderful after watching Odie ask for them
all the time. He was always so happy to see us when we came home, no matter
what the time. Since his passing, we have decided to open up our hearts and
home to one of his friends at the rescue. We were only able to give him a home
for a short seven weeks, but our hope is that it was the best seven weeks of
his life. We love you Brady and will see you in heaven!
